The best things sting the most!

Beginning to realize that without having something in the right context you will lose that something. Mainly relationships...sucks but it's true. What do you do when you feel that you have something that you can't live without only to realize you're going to have to live without because through neglect you lost it? It's important to realize the meaning and depth of a relationship with someone before it's to late. I'm at a loss for words for what to say, all I know is that the hole that it created has so much uncertainty, fear, and love in it at the same time. It's like having an out of body experience while being in trauma on the operating table.

Up Late Looking Back

As I sit here at 1:30 am and I’m looking back at the time I’ve wasted tonight looking back over pictures I realize that it wasn’t wasted time at all. It’s brought me back to many memories over the last 4 years or so…most all of which are good. But the amazing thing that I’ve seen in all this is the progression of what God’s brought me through and what I’ve been exposed to. It’s hard to look back at the person I was 4 years ago and not be thankful for where I’m at today. I’m sure there have been many tears along the way, but tonight brought only tears of joy for where I’m at and the people that are in my life. It’s so easy to take the journey for granted along the way, but I guess there is always a way to bring us back to reality and remind us where we’ve been. I’m still just sitting here in awe of this…looking back I don’t think I realized that taking a chance and walking through the door that was open could’ve brought so many great things. Amazing how that happens huh?

So what am I trying to say here? Always walk with an awareness, take it in as you go, and never be afraid to take a chance in a direction that your heart is leading you! You’ll be surprised where it might lead you.

It's been a while

I realize it's been forever since I've posted anything on here, but hopefully that's about to change.

I should have time in the next little bit to start blogging more now that I'm off tour and more stationary for the moment.

Keep checking back.

Why is it?

Have you ever noticed that it's at the end of something when you start thinking about the beginning? I always hear people say that you never know how much something means to you until it's gone...why is that? It seems so true, but is it really? The more I think about it the more that I realize that may not be the case. Let's take a closer look at this. Does that something not always mean something to you? I think so, I believe that whenever you have it though you just expect it to be there and then when it's not you realize that there's a void where it used to be. Let's even look at relationships. Whenever you're "with" someone there could be many reasons why you don't "care" about them. It's not so much that you don't care, it's just that you don't know how to convey it all the time. If it's a new relationship you don't want to look like you're to into it to soon, lets be honest we all do this. If it's an old relationship maybe you're just comfortable with it and you expect it so you forget to do the small things. Whatever you're reason is it is still an injustice to the other person in the relationship. They deserve to know how much they mean to you. Don't ever take them for granted or be to prideful to let them see you vulnerable with your feelings. Looking back there's so many things I would've said that I didn't have the chance to say, there's many things I would've done that I didn't do. I guess the main reason I didn't was because I was afraid "feeling" those things to quickly would push you away. What's your reason? Think about it. Don't ever be afraid of a good thing.

Living Proactive: The Key to Success

Have you ever wondered why some people seem to “make it big” in life while others just get by? Sure, maybe they just caught a lucky break. While this could be a great explanation chances are it’s not accurate. Most successful people had to learn to live proactively instead of reactively. Think about it for a minute, do you think Donald Trump sat back and said “One day I’ll catch my break” or did Michael Jordan sit around and just become “Air Jordan?”

I would submit to you that greatness has to be formed. I once heard a wise man say “greatness comes from definition.” My question to you is if some of the world’s most successful people had to be proactive in going for their dreams why would it be any different for you and me? Over the past few years I had been wondering when I was going to “catch my break” and why it hadn’t happened yet; and then it hit me, I wasn’t being proactive. I had been waiting on life to just “happen” this whole time, meanwhile opportunities were passing me by left and right. It was all I could do to keep up with life, meaning I was reacting to everything that was going on. My spiritual father has told me many times that opportunities are never postponed...instead they are lost forever. It wasn’t until I got a real revelation of the importance of being proactive that I started to live proactively and take advantage of the opportunities that life presented.

Did you realize that as Christians we’re called to set the atmosphere and not be ruled by it? So what are you saying Jameson? I’m glad you asked! I’m saying that by living proactively I can cut out a lot of stress that is associated with deadlines or tight spots. Think about it, how many of us have stayed up till 4 am working on a project that just has to get done? I know I have, it’s what I’m currently doing. So instead of being stressed out with a getting a project to the printer I could be in bed getting much needed rest just by having been proactive on this project. Did I know it was coming? Yes. I must say initially I thought I had one more week, but that’s no excuse.

The point I want to make to you is that by living proactively you don’t have to let your circumstances rule you! Instead live proactively! Take life head on and go after your dreams. Think about where you want to be in one to five years from now. Got it? Okay, now think of what’s keeping you from your dreams. Solution…MAKE A MOVE! The details will come when you start; you don’t get the whole plan before you begin. You must first begin! As I conclude I would like you to remember three keys to living proactively:

1.) Don’t focus on the disadvantages

2.) Quit making excuses

3.) Take the initiative!
